A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST / BUDGET ANALYST

As a Senior Financial Analyst / Budget Analyst, you play a key role on our finance team by driving all aspects of our budgeting, analysis, modeling, and forecasting. Your days are engaging as you undertake a variety of tasks. Among others, you develop predictive models that provide insight into our overall financial standing, including an annual outlook and one that takes in a rolling five-year period. You present these findings to our internal and external stakeholders and offer your thoughtful recommendations.

In addition, you collaborate with the budget managers on project forecasts that ensure that the resources for each project are properly managed. This same goal guides you as you track and analyze the outcome of the projects by preparing reports that outline the costs and budget variances. Conscientious and responsible, you analyze our revenues, expenditures, treasury, and cash to ensure that all our operations are kept within budget and make wise of the allocated resources.

Adept at managing multiple tasks at a time, you also keep a watch on our monitoring tools with an eye to improving them in whatever ways you can. A team player, you step in wherever else you're needed, such as providing backup on Structured Query Language (SQL) for our applications developer. You also attend meetings and conferences to stay current on financial laws and codes. Your job keeps you busy, but you thrive on the fast pace and the chance to build positive relationships with our great team. You love using your skills and abilities to further our important mission!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST / BUDGET ANALYST

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, public administration, economics, finance, or business administration
  • 5+ years of experience conducting financial and budget analysis for an entrepreneurial, nonprofit, or services organization
  • Expertise in forecasting methods and data analysis
  • Strong experience with presentation software, integrated financial systems, and MS Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, dashboards, and charts
  • Willingness to travel internationally and to the U. S. mainland

Possession of an MBA is preferred. Familiarity with data queries and data management tools such as SQL and BusinessObjects would also be a plus. Knowledge about the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Uniform Guidance as well as experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL enterprise resource planning (ERP) software would also be a bonus.
