A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CAD LEAD / ADMINISTRATOR

As our CAD Lead / Administrator, you provide overall management of the observatory CAD data and standards, PDM system, engineering data configuration control, and DWG release process. You develop and implement standards and tools to foster and balance consistency, quality, and efficiency across the engineering design cycle environment. Your work is vital to our growth and success! You develop, author, and maintain everything from CAD modeling and design to engineering data configuration standards. You ensure quality, maintain systems and cycles, and perform reviews and checks. You LOVE keeping busy, utilizing your skills, guiding team members, and helping out wherever else you can.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in SolidWorks modeling and assembly management
  • 2+ years of experience as a CAD PDM (product data management) Administrator
  • Expertise in CAD data configuration management, large assembly management, and drawing release life cycles
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT) per ASME Y14.5
  • Proficiency in component and assembly drawing generation to ASME Y14.100
